  2. How sweet…so, darned, darned sweet!!!

My W W is my husband’s alter-ego today. Stop by and say ‘Hey!’ won’t you? I’d love to have you visit with me too. Happy Wordless.

  3. uh oh!!! hehe I had a dog that had a hankering for underwear …. it was a challenge!

  4. Wow, I’ve seen dogs steal one sock, but not a huge mouthful at once! Have you tied a tennis ball in a sock before to make a toy? Blue goes nuts over that. :)

  5. Cute! Looks like something one of mine might do at any time.

  6. Ha! My dog used to do this, too!

  7. LOL! How Cute!

  8. Oh that is a great photo ! I posted a not so happy hound this week.

  9. LOL! That’s HILARIOUS!!! He wasn’t making a mess, he was disposing of the mismatched socks, Or maybe he was helping with laundry?!

  10. We sometimes forget to close the bathroom door and this is where the clean socks are drying. Jessie is guaranteed of a reaction and some attention by sneaking in and grabbing as many as she can and stuffing them in her lil’ mouth! We try to be cross but sometimes it’s hard, and of course she just sees it as a fun game.

  11. As a veterinarian, I have performed surgery to remove socks from several dogs. The socks stick in the small intestine forming an obstruction. Because of this, I discourage owners from allowing their pets to play with socks or other types of clothing. Please bring your dog to your veterinarian and tell them about the socks if any vomiting is observed.

  12. Hello Dr Nelson, thank you for your comment. We have never allowed Jessie to keep a sock and in the rare event that she finds one, we take them off her immediately. She simply likes to carry things round in her mouth. In this instance she had snuck into the drying room which had been left open – it is usually always closed. Please be assured that we are very careful about what we leave around the house and we are aware of the dangers. I do understand your concern and thanks for your post. My comment, ‘No wonder we’re always short of socks’ was just a funny line to accompany the photo. Apologies if I have misled anyone.

I believe Dr. Nelson just went a little overboard… your dogs are so intensely warm and joyous…

  14. Thanks Ellen! Good to flag up concerns though.

  18. Less embarrasing than your cat playing with your box of tampons when you walk into the house with guests !

    Our WW is here

  19. Yes I guess that’s true. I hope that’s not the pic you’re directing me to! ;)

  24. Cute dog. Did you find out where he always bring the socks to?

    Happy Thanksgiving.

  25. Hi BK
Actually Jessie just walks round the house with her tail swishing waiting for us to get them. She never chews them or takes them to any one place. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

  26. Love this! I have a Yorkie that I love to take pics of.

  27. Shots like this make me want a dog again. This is just great and it’s the reason we call ‘em man’s best friend! Excellent photo. Have a wonderful WW.

  28. That is a daily battle in our house, what with the two naughty labradors and all!
    Cute photo!

  29. Sweet puppy!

I have a cat who steals both socks and underwear. Clean or dirty, doesn’t seem to matter…
